I can also be co-supervisor (not single supervisor) under other PhD programs in Barcelona. Consider at least the program in Cognitive Science and Language.
Who are you?
I welcome students with any background but my university and the academic system in Catalonia is conservative (the same applies to Spain and other countries). Every PhD program has a bias for students of a certain background (that in practice excludes students from certain backgrounds).
If your background is mathematics, computer science or other engineering degrees, the PhD programs in Computing, Artificial Intelligence or Bioinformatics above will fit you easily.
If your background is philosophy, linguistics or cognitive science, a co-supervision within another PhD program that fits your background may be the best or the only possibility.
Note: As a linguist, I have always been interested in getting involved in PhD programs of linguistics or cognitive science in order to participate in programs that are close to my expertise. That would let me supervise (not just co-supervise) students. The current situation is the consequence of decisions by others.
Funding.
I do not have my own funding for PhD students (as wealthy researchers or as in wealthy universities). However, you can apply for a PhD from public or private organizations. Check the Talent Hub website of my university.
